Dispensing spectacles involves far more than just taking a few accurate measurements. We may ask you several lifestyle related questions to help us gain an understanding of what you require from your spectacles.

We have a range of lenses available to patients who require a prescription for distance and reading or simply don’t want the inconvenience of taking their spectacles on and off. There are several options available ranging from single vision, anti-fatigue, bifocals, occupational or varifocals lenses.

Visioffice:

At Drage and Tozer we offer a level of personalisation, with tailor made spectacle lenses that are designed and manufactured for you.

Our intelligent measuring system, the Visioffice, uses digital technology to perform accurate measurements enabling us to dispense the highest quality lenses that are made specifically with your needs in mind. Alongside the usual measurements required for a varifocal dispense these lenses take into account eye movement, reading behaviour and frame fit.

These personalised lenses will optimise your sight making sure your vision is sharp and feels natural. They will also help to reduce the head movement required to find the “sweet spot” on the lens.

Essilor Stellest Lenses:

The new Stellest lens by Essilor is a specialist single vision spectacle lens that is designed to help control and slows down myopia progression (short sightedness) in children. The lens allows clear central vision whilst stopping light from focusing around the edges of the vision. When wore for up to 12 hours a day, every day, the rate of myopia progression slows down by 67% on average compared to that of a single vision lens.

Various coatings are available for your spectacle lenses, most commonly an anti-reflection coating. These coatings are proven to reduce unwanted reflections from artificial lighting. The coatings we use are scratch and smudge resistant, water and dust repellent ensuring ultimate clarity and lens protection.
