Helen Drage of Drage and Tozer has been my Mum’s optician for a few years now and Mum has always said how pleased she was with the service she received. Unfortunately, in the last year or two Mum has become increasingly affected by advancing vascular dementia and at the same time has been suffering from age related cataracts. Mum’s dementia manifests itself as a complete inability to communicate verbally, making dealing with opticians and hospitals particularly challenging. Helen and other members of the Drage and Tozer practice have been really good in dealing with Mum’s needs, they’ve been patient and careful; they’ve communicated with Mum, the hospital and with me and have taken the time to assess Mum’s needs despite her inability to communicate and express them.

I’ve been really impressed with the care that Helen and her team have given my Mum, so much so that my partner and I have switched to Drage and Tozer too.

Had my first eye test for a few years and was very impressed with the service today. Reception greeted me politely and my optician made me feel at ease. Very impressed thank you.

I wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for the “above and beyond” service you provide each and every time I (and my parents) have visited you.

Firstly, and as I’m sure you must be aware, Claire is such an asset to the practice. Before coming to you I used to visit Vision Express and Specsavers. During that time I’ve never had a prescription that I felt made a difference. Claire is the only person to have ever discussed a prism with me and what she has prescribed is something that is really working for me and I’m very grateful. On top of her being a brilliant optometrist who is really thorough, Claire is also really friendly and takes the time to explain things. Historically, I’m a bad/squeamish patient when it comes to my eyes (I’d much rather be at the dentist!) but Claire really puts me at ease. I hope she stays with the practice for a long time.

In addition to the excellence of Claire, it’s also about the service received as soon as you step through the door. All of your staff are so friendly (always with smiles on their faces) and they really know their stuff.

My dad tested your practice first as he wanted transition lenses. He wasn’t happy with the awful service he received from Boots and when he came in to ask about the lenses, one of the team went “above and beyond” explaining the options. He wasn’t even registered with you at this time but soon after decided to use your practice, saw Claire and continues to use your practice.

During our various visits we’ve also seen other examples of great service, for example, a young child was having glasses fitted and one of the team took a picture so the child could see what his new glasses looked like. Today, you fixed my bent glasses for free (and didn’t make it seem like an inconvenience) and it’s things like that that make all the difference to a visit.

I have been a client of Drage and Tozer for many years. The reception staff have changed over this period but each new member of staff fits well into the team. It is as though they are one happy family, always polite, welcoming and caring. Not just caring for the health of our eyes but caring for you as a person. Nothing is too much trouble for them. If you have to wear spectacles or contact lenses, it is the best place to go, high recommended.
I was having eye problems and was given an emergency appointment (at Drage and Tozer) within a few hours. A detached retina was diagnosed, and a hospital appointment made by the optician for that afternoon.
I am so impressed with the care, empathy, competence and conscientiousness shown. The prompt diagnosis and action contributed to saving the sight in the eye.

Also, just to say thanks very much for your fantastic service and diligence over the past 5+ years. Unfortunately, now that I live in London it is just a bit too impractical for me to keep coming up to Sudbury but I would without hesitation recommend Drage & Tozer to anyone near to Sudbury.

Recently I had my two year check at Drage and Tozer having used since the opened and always received a great service. I have just been prescribed ‘occupational lenses’ as I was increasingly unable to find any position that I could comfortably use my computer. They have been live changing – no neck ache or constantly trying new positions for the screen, desk or chair – the disadvantage of having another pair of glasses to think about is outweighed by the benefits.

I have been delighted with the personal service and support that Helen and Sandra, have provided me over the past 15 years, in particular during a serious Cancer condition Helen spent much extra time to understand my condition and monitor the effect of the Cancer treatment on my eyesight, after 7 years I have had the “all clear” for Cancer, but during that time it was always re-assuring that my eyesight was closely monitored. I am sure that this sort of treatment is only possible with a privately owned and managed business such as Drage and Tozer. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone

Deciding to start a new life in Cornwall for Vicki and me is one thing, and very exciting of course, but then we suddenly realised we’ve got to find new opticians now panic has set in!

We first met Helen and Sandra some 17 years ago. During that time, we’ve built a relationship that we know will never be equaled, and in a strange sort of selfish way, hope it never will. The care and attention to every detail and the excellent customer care, both front and back of house has been amazing.

We cannot sing the praises of Drage & Tozer and the whole team enough and would not hesitate to recommend them to anybody looking to get personal service second to none, and have done just that on many occasions.

I have been wearing glasses for nearly two years now but I only have a prescription in one eye, it has been a struggle because I am a dancer. I spend many hours a week training and rehearsing without my glasses and it gives me a headache.
But now I have tried contact lenses it has been a dramatic change in my confidence when I am dancing because I have better vision.
It hasn’t just changed my confidence in dancing but my lifestyle too. Drage and Tozer helped me putting them in and taking them out and giving me the best eyecare plan.
